Parking Mania is one of the more straightforward parking games around. As in most games of this sort, all you have to do is to get your car into the correct parking space without damaging it. That sounds very simple, and on the face of it, it is simple - but as you might expect, there are obstacles - other parked cars, for example - placed in your way. Even so, this is not among the very hardest parking games, which means that it might be a good choice if you're new to the genre. The controls are quite responsive, too, which helps.
The instructions for this game could accurately be described as short and sweet - all they do is to tell you to use the arrow keys to control your car, and then to park it. It's a clear enough objective, and it's nice to have a game that tells it like it is! You'll also find that the first level is among the easiest you'll have come across, as the only requirement is to drive straight forward, then to come to a halt in the parking space at the appropriate time. Naturally, things get rather more complex later on, and if you crash your car, you'll play no further part in any case.
The scoring system in Parking Mania is slightly different from what you may have become used to in a parking game. As well as a rapidly increasing timer, there's a second measure - number of moves. Every time you change between forward and reverse movement, this counter increases by one. In both cases, the lower your score, the better. At the end of each level, you're rated according to how fast you were, but you'll also be given a substantial score bonus if you're able to complete your maneuver in one move - so don't be too reckless in your driving!
