Central Parking
Description:
The name of Central Parking is a nice little pun, given that it's set in a city not a million miles away from New York in appearance. This is a parking game that emphasizes the urban nature of most real-life parking situations, translating them to the setting of a computer-based flash game with considerable success. Even the musical theme that plays as soon as you start the game has an urban, slick vibe to it. You could almost imagine a game like this being mentioned in a show like Friends! Don't let yourself become distracted by thoughts of TV stardom, though, as that's a good way to end up failing.
As is par for the course in parking games, in this one you view your car, and indeed the rest of the playing area, from overhead. Your task is to get your car from its starting point to the specific parking place shown. You can do this by following the arrows that are marked on the road, so as long as you keep your eyes open, there is no real risk of wandering off into the unknown! The four arrow keys are used to control your car's speed and direction, and the space bar can be utilized as a means of quickly activating the brakes.
A very unusual feature of Central Parking is that, as well as actually driving the car, you are responsible for getting the driver into it in the first place, and also from the parking space into the destination building! This adds an extra dimension that you very rarely find in parking games, and forces you to think a bit harder. There's a time limit, as you would expect, although on the first level, you do get a lot of time to succeed. There's also a health meter, and this declines if you touch any obstacle. After each level, you'll be shown a score, based on the time taken and the state of your car.
