Docking Perfection 2 is something a little bit different for fans of parking games. As you may have worked out from its title, this game sees you put in charge not of a car, but of a boat. You are, in fact, a ferryman! Your task is to steer your boat to the waiting passengers, pick them up in your craft, and then ferry them over to the other side of the water. You will be able to see, via speech bubbles, where each passenger wishes to go, and you can take them across in whatever order you wish. You should note that not all passengers will want to go to the same destination.

The controls for this game are very similar to those used in car parking games. You must use the four arrow keys to move - left and right steer your boat through the water, up accelerates, and down slows you down and stops. This is not an easy game, partly because maneuvering a boat is a very different thing to controlling a car. In particular, you must dock very carefully at each jetty, as even a small mistake will see you crashing into the wooden structures either side. If you do that, then you will see your damage meter increase - and after four bumps, your boat will be destroyed!

Each level has a target time - it's 50 seconds for level 1 - and a certain number of passengers that you must successfully ferry over the water. If you fail to meet either of these targets, then your game will be over, so it's very important to read the on-screen instructions carefully before each level begins. Docking Perfection 2 is a refreshingly different game, with some extra features that make it enjoyable to play, even if you have played dozens of car parking games before. It may be simple, with few sound effects and bold graphics, but it's certainly a game that makes you think.
