Park My Car
Description:
In Park My Car, you're in control of a series of cars, trying to park them in a prestigious parking lot before your time expires. If you hit anything, even gently, then you'll fail the level, and have to start over again. You'll require both good reactions and a clear head to do well at this game, as the ever-decreasing time limit can put you under more pressure than you might expect. If you manage to complete a level successfully, then you'll be shown how long you took, and given a running score, before moving on to a more challenging stage.
The controls in this game are not quite the same as in a lot of similar games. Although the four arrow keys are used, as you'd expect, to control the speed and direction of the car, there's one big difference - the space bar. In many games, this is used to slam on the brakes, or to signal the end of a level. Not this time, though - in this game it's used either to honk your horn... or to fire a weapon! That won't be an option in the early stages, though, so at first you should simply concentrate on parking correctly. Make sure you have the car pointing in the direction indicated, too.
Park My Car has one of the better soundtracks in the parking game genre, and although you can switch the sound off from the main menu - just in case you're playing the game at work! - I'd recommend leaving it on if you can. It's also possible to change between Best, Normal, and Bad quality settings for the graphics. Best is the default, and unless you're playing the game on a very old or slow machine, there doesn't seem a lot of reason to change it. This is a pretty slick game, and nicely designed.
