The Parking Lot series is one of the best known collections of parking games, and this is where it all began - the original Parking Lot. Your task here is to get into your car, and successfully drive it from its starting point to the parking space that has been reserved for it. You can tell which one this is, as it is not only covered in flashing yellow stripes, but also has PARKING painted up the side. There's no excuse for choosing the wrong space in this game!
As you would expect from a true original of the genre, in this game you only need to remember a few simple controls. In fact, the only keys you need to use are the four cursor keys. You can use the left and right keys to maneuver your car in the corresponding direction, the up key to increase your speed, and the down key to activate the brakes. If you are already at a standstill, pressing down will shift your car into reverse - this can be very handy for making it around tight corners, as sometimes doing that in one smooth movement can be difficult, or even borderline impossible!
If you need a reminder of the controls, click the Help button to the top right of the game screen. You can't spend too long thinking about your next move, though, since Parking Lot features a countdown timer. If you fail to position your car correctly in its space by the time this reaches zero, your game will be over - so keep your wits about you! On top of this, you'll also need to be careful to avoid moving pedestrians and other, static, objects. If you damage your car at all, you'll be stripped of one of your three lives - and again, if these reach zero, then it's game over.
