The Super Parking World series of parking games has proved to be among the most popular ever released, and this is the original, the place where it all began. As soon as you fire it up, though, you'll notice that even at this early stage in the series' development, the game was very polished and attractive to look at. There's a cool soundtrack right from the start screen, and your assigned vehicle is a bright yellow sports car. Not bad! What you have to do with it is to maneuver it into the parking spaces shown, without hitting anything along the way.
This is a top-down game, which lets you control the car pretty precisely. You use the keyboard for this, with the left and right cursor keys being used to steer the car, while up and down control your speed. You can also shift into reverse gear, which is accomplished by pressing down while you're at a standstill. Keep a close eye on the steering wheel symbol, which will help you work out where your car is actually pointing! Also, when you get into the parking spot, you'll see an accuracy gauge showing you how close you are to a perfect park.
There's a time limit for each level, and after the relatively straightforward level 1, things get very much more challenging pretty fast, so on some levels you may have to bite the bullet and finish a level without quite achieving perfection. If you crash, you'll lose one life out of the five you start with... but if you run out of time, the game will end there and then! These extra factors, along with its nice design and presentation, make Super Parking World quite an engrossing parking game, and one which will provide even experienced gamers with a tough test.
